After all, if the internet is supposed to be the future of reading (a thought that fills most book/newspaper lovers with dread), then it is imperative that quality writing of any length is encouraged and rewarded. Otherwise we may experience the evolution (or devolution) of language into something so economical and &quot;efficient&quot; that it becomes soulless at the same time.</description>
