Five things I’d really like to do right now

So, somebody once said that lists are a lazy blogger’s friend. Happy days, I’m the laziest blogger around.

1. Skate – I had to lump these together because it turns out wearing funny boots and gliding unsteadily along is not exclusively appealing be it on wheels or blades. I want to go ice skating so badly, but I want to go on a day when I can be guaranteed to have plenty of space to fall over and not get my fingers sliced off. I also think I may have convinced myself I’m better at it than I actually am.

And I’m getting a little bit worryingly obsessed with the idea of buying and owning these beautiful skates despite the fact that I clearly do not have the ability to do them justice, and would be too scared to actually use them in public. They’d have limited use in my flat – could make hoovering fun though.

2. Go on a Wolvo trip - I am, techinically at least, a grown up. I’ve lived away from home for the past seven years and hated it while I was stuck there. Yet here I am, totally and utterly homesick. I love only having to choose between three pubs, and the fear/excitement/fear of seeing ex-boyfriends or people from school who I’ve barely spoken to in the past five years and probably hated me all along. Of course, I’ll get there and instantly miss London.

3. Make a mixtape – man, I miss making mixtapes. So much time, effort and creativity used to go into my mixtapes. Many hours of complicated maths went into choosing the exact songs to fit exactly on each side – of course, it turns out now that they were all atrocious. To make up for it, I’m going to recreate one of the mixtapes from this book in Spotify, and then I’m going to create a Days of the Week playlist. It’ll do for now.

4. Eat cupcakes – technically, I could bake some cupcakes. But what I really really really want is a Hummingbird Bakery cupcake or twelve. I could also definitely go for a Krispy Kreme.  One day, when I’m rich or just feeling a little reckless with my cash, I’m going to buy this cake tin and make some kind of cake based traffic jam. Amazing times ahead.

5. Sleep – I spent the entire weekend on the sofa, curled up watching far more Hollyoaks and One Tree Hill than is technically good for a person. I went to bed early and slept in. I’m still tired. Exhausted. Drained. Sleepiest bear around. A sure sign, if ever there was one, that I will require a major lottery win followed by retirement fairly imminently.

I have skates that I bought about 4 years ago. I wore them once, but skating is not the kind of thing you can learn by yourself. It’s like constantly tripping up on the pavement when you’re by yourself and having to do that wry little smile to yourself in case anyone’s watching x 1,000,000. So, I think you should definitely by the skates, and then we can go to a park and watch each other fall over, without having to do any wry grins.

I can’t even tell you how much I love this plan. Roll on pay day…
